On November 1st in Carmarthen, Russ Ferriday ran a Workshop attended by influential officers of 5 Welsh Statutory Authorities, the Welsh
Language Board, and several other public and academic bodies. The goal was to elicit a clear set of requirements for improvements in the area of Content Management, Translation, Translation Memories, and translation cost-accounting. The sub-goal was to introduce organizations unfamiliar with open source practices to this growing field, and encourage local collaboration in system development.

This talk will present the outcome of that meeting and lessons learned. The next steps for the project will also be discussed.

The meeting on Noveber 22nd 2006 at the Fondation Universitaire Stichting (Brussels) was very well attended by members of EU governments, and technology leaders from across Europe.

Presenters came from Italy, Spain, Brussels, the Netherlands and Wales (ahem).
