SFSCon

Russ Ferriday of Topia Systems was a participant in the South Tyrol Sprint in Bozen/Bolzano.

"In the context of SFSCon (South-Tyrol Free Software Conference), organized and hosted by CoCOS (Competence Center Open Source) together with LUGBZ (Linux User Group Bolzano) and BlueDynamics Alliance this was the First Plone-Sprint in the region. South Tyrol as a small autonomous province of Italy leads the way towards free software."

A group of Plone developers met to develop an infrastructure for importing and exporting content to and from Plone.

Plone is the leading Open Source content management systems (CMS). It is server-based and controlled through a browser, thus reducing the costs and complexity of content development worksations. Among a raft of powerful features, Plone has a workflow engine, fine-grained security and the ability to be customized for many tasks (vertical applications).

Topia Systems develops Plone applications for clients, and takes part in development of Plone and its extension modules. In particular, Topia Systems is defining new ways to streamine content translation using Plone in conjunction with Translation Memories.
